Here is a list of currently supported character sets:
- ISO 8859-1; ISO Latin 1; CP819
- ISO 8859-2; ISO Latin 2
- ISO 8859-3; ISO Latin 3
- ISO 8859-4; ISO Latin 4
- ISO 8859-5; ISO Cyrillic
- ISO 8859-7; ISO Greek; ELOT_928
- ISO 8859-8; ISO Hebrew (KoalaTerm 2.7 or later)
- ISO 8859-9; ISO Latin 5 (KoalaTerm 2.7 or later)
- IBM PC; DOS; CP437
- IBM866; CP866 (Cyrillic) (KoalaTerm 2.7 or later)
- KOI8-r (Russian); CP878 (KoalaTerm 2.7 or later)
- MS CP1250, South Slavic (KoalaTerm 4.2 or later)
Starting KoalaTerm 3.0, the following DBCS (Double Byte Character Set) for Chinese/Japanese/Korean
characters are also supported:
- Simplied Chinese: GB, GBK, MS CP 936
- Traditional Chinese: BIG5, MS CP 950
- Japanese: JIS, MS CP 932
- Korean: KSC, MS CP 949
Starting KoalaTerm 4.4, UTF-8 character set is supported.
