Tomcat Shader Installation FAQ (Windows)
========================================

1 - I have installed the plugin. Now what ?
-------------------------------------------

Open Maya. Go in the preferences/plugin manager menu. Click to the box near the plugin named "cartoonShader50.mll". The number "50" means that it's a version of the mll designed to work with maya 5.0. For other maya versions, activate the appropriate plugin (cartoonshader40.mll or cartoonshader45.mll)

2 - The plugin doesn't appear in the plugin manager window.
-----------------------------------------------------------

1. Ensure you have installed the plugin while logged as an administrator.

2. Ensure that the environment variables are correctly set. To do this go to the windows start menu, settings, and configuration panel. Open the system settings and click on the tab "advanced". Click on the "environment variables" button. A list of environment variables appear.

On the top list, there should be two variables. One is named "MAYA_PLUG_IN_PATH", the other "MAYA_SCRIPT_PATH". If you don't see them, create them by clicking "new".

Both should be set to the plugin installation path, for example : "F:\Tomcat cartoon shader".

Note that you'll have to restart the computer after creating the variables.

3 - The icon doesn't appear in the hypershade window. Why ?
-----------------------------------------------------------

Copy the cartoonShader.XPM file located in "my documents/maya/ [my maya version] /prefs/icons" in the main maya installation directory, usually "C:/AW/MAYA5.0/ICONS"

4 - The main "cartoonshader" menu does not appear.
