Adding a New Light Source

  1. From the Manipulate menu, select Visual Effects, and then select Lighting.
  2. The Lighting dialog box appears.

  3. Select the Two lights option.
  4. A new light source appears as a black ball in the 5 o’clock position.

  5. To add more light sources, right-click inside the square surrounding the ball and select Create New Light Source from the pop-up menu.
  6. The Custom option is selected and the new light source appears as a white ball.

  7. Click and drag the small ball until you achieve the desired lighting.
  8. To restore the light source to its default setting, select Default.
  9. Click Close to close the Lighting dialog box.

Note: You can have a total of eight light sources at a time.

Changing the Light Properties

  1. From the Manipulate menu, select Visual Effects, and then select Lighting.
  2. The Lighting dialog box appears.

  3. To change the properties of the light, such as color or brightness, right-click directly on the small ball and select Light Properties.
  4. The Light Property dialog box appears.

  5. Select a color from the Color menu.
  6. Additionally, you can drag the Brightness and Specularity slide bars to modify the brightness of the source and the brightness of the model’s reflection to light, respectively.

  7. Click OK.
  8. The light properties modifications are applied.

    Note: To set the light properties to its default setting, select Default.

  9. Click Close to close the Lighting dialog box.
