Sections

A section is the main part of the application and allows the user to define or get information involving a specific part of the prototype. There are four different sections: User Interface, Site Map, Scenarios and Comments.

User Interface, Site Map and Scenarios sections:

The User Interface, Site Map and Scenarios sections are organized in a similar way: a central canvas and panels.

Canvas:

The canvas is attached to the workspace by default; nevertheless can be detached by clicking the detach/attach button and vice versa.

A detached canvas can be moved freely around the screen by dragging the title bar of the frame. To resize the frame drag any of its sides.

Panels organization:

Every section has its own panels that helps you to monitor and edit the canvas. Panels are arranged in panel groups and are displayed as tabs. The groups are structured in the lateral and bottom workspace areas, called docks.

The panel organization is customizable by the user by drag and drop. A dragged panel tab can be dropped into:

  • A panel group, to add it to the group.
  • Between panel groups in a dock, to add it to the dock. A new group panel will be created.
  • An empty dock, to add a new panel group to this dock.
  • A free area (any area excluding the mentioned previously), to create a floating dock.
Note that the target dropping areas are highlighted in turquoise as shown on the next image:

Panel groups are draggable too by dragging the empty area on the right side of the group tabs. Groups can be dropped in the same areas mentioned previously.

Floating docks:

Floating docks, as well as the attached docks, contain panel groups that can be customized by dropping or dragging panel groups. Plus they are resizable and moveable across the screen. A floating dock can be closed by clicking on the close button on the top-right hand corner, hiding the containing panels which can be shown again using the View menu. Floating docks can be dropped in the same areas where panels and panel groups do.

Note: The panel groups and docks workspace will be saved when exiting the application and restored at the next usage.
