The configuration options available through Sybase Central require a UAF agent to be running on each node. The wizard provides a default port number for the Backup Server to be created but you may enter a different port number. The wizard ensures the port number you have entered is available and if it is not, you must enter a different port number. Once a Backup Server is configured you can use Sybase Central to delete it and reconfigure it as many times as you need.
You can configure these properties using the Backup Server Configuration wizard:
Port number
Using the Backup Server Configuration wizard
Select the Backup Server tab.
Right-click Configure Backup Server and select Open.
A welcome screen appears. Click Next.
Enter the name and error log path for the Backup Server.
If you accept the default parameter settings, click Next.
The Backup Server port number starts at 5001. The error
log path for Backup Server must be shared by all hosts in the cluster.
The wizard validates the Backup Server name, error log path and
port numbers at this time. If there are errors a dialog box will
report the error information. When all parameters are valid, a summary
window appears.
If the configuration summary is correct, click Finish to close the wizard.
Deleting the server
Right click the Backup Server icon and select Delete.
Click Delete on the dialog that pops up.
