Configuring an XP Server

The configuration options available through Sybase Central require a UAF agent to be running on each node. The wizard provides a default port number for the XP Server to be created but you may enter a different port number. The wizard ensures the port number you have entered is available and if it is not, you must enter a different one. Once XP Server is configured you can use Sybase Central to delete it and reconfigure it as many times as you need.

You can configure these properties using the XP Server Configuration wizard:

You can configure a XP Server for each instance.

  1. Click the XP Server tab.

  2. Right click Configure XP Server and select Open.

  3. On the welcome window, Click Next.

  4. Enter the name and error log path for the XP Server.

  5. Specify the port number of each instance or accept the default.

    NoteXP Server port number starts at 5002.

  6. If you accept the default parameter settings, click Next.

  7. If the configuration summary is correct, click Finish.

  1. Right click the XP Server icon and select Delete.

  2. Click Delete on the dialog that pops up.
