To gain access to a remote server, you must definite the remote server on the local Adaptive Server.
Only a system security officer can create a remote server.
Adding a remote server
Select the Remote Servers folder.
Select File | New | Remote Server.
The Add New Server wizard asks for the following information:

Local Name |
A local name for the remote server. |
Remote Server |
The network name of the remote server. (The list has the names of servers known to Sybase Central. The remote server does not need to be on this list. However, it must be in the interfaces file for the Adaptive Server on which you are creating this remote server. |
Server class |
If Component Integration Services is enabled, specify the server class of the remote server. If Component Integration Services is not enabled, accept the default server class: sql_server. |
Double-click the Add Remote Server icon.
