Extending a segment

The Segment Properties Devices tab allows you to perform the following actions:

Add – extends the range of a segment to another device.
Remove – removes a segment from a database device.
Properties – Launches the property sheet for a selected database device.

You can use the Add Database Device to Segment dialog to select the database device to which you want to extend a segment.

Privileges

A database owner can extend a segment.

Extending a segment onto another database device on which the database has been allocated

Select the segment icon, then select File | Properties.
Select the Devices tab.
Click Add. The Add Database Device to Segment dialog box opens.
Select the devices you want to add to the segment.
Click OK.
