The Device Size dialog allows you to edit:
Name – is the name of the device being edited.
Size – is the current size of the device.
Unused – is the unused portion of the device.
Current allocation – is the size of the portion of the device that is allocated to the database.
Total space allocation – is the sum of Current allocation and Add space. It will be the new allocation size once the change is applied.
Expanding a database by allocating space on the
same device
Select the database icon, then select File | Properties.
Select the Devices tab.
In the list of devices, select the device on which you want to allocate more space.
Click the Edit button. The Device Size dialog box opens.
In the Add Space box, enter the amount of additional space you want to allocate from this device to the database.
Click OK. Adaptive Server increases the allocation on the selected database device to the sum of the original allocation plus the additional allocation you specified.
