Backing up a database

Sybase Central checks to see if Backup Server is available. If it is not, the Backup and Restore wizard will not start.

Sybase Central helps you back up a database and its transaction log. The frequency of your database backups determines how little (or how much) work you will lose in the event of a media failure. This topic presents some guidelines about when to schedule backups of user and system databases.
