The Computed Columns Add Index dialog box is part of the Add Index wizard. A function-based index is an index that has one or more expressions as its index key. Function-based indexes are available only on Adaptive Server 15.0 and later.An expression can be a regular column name, constant, function, global variable, or any combination of these, connected by one or more operators.
Creating a function-based index
To access the New Index wizard, go to the Select Columns for Index page.
To enter the index column expression, click Add Index Column Expression and select Ascending or Descending from Select Columns for Index Screen. When the Add Index Column Expression box appears, enter the functional index expression and click OK.
