Creating users

Privileges

Database owners can add and delete users in the databases they own.

Creating a user

In a database, select the Users folder.
Select File | New | User.

The User Creation wizard opens.

The User Creation wizard asks for the following information:

Input	Description
Name	A name for the user. The name does not have to be the same as the login.
Login name	Login to which this user is assigned.
Group	Optionally, assign a group to the user. Default: public

A user can be a member of one assigned group or the default “public” group. The group permissions override the user’s permissions on the same objects.

Shortcut

Select the Users folder. In the right pane, double-click the Add User icon.
