Tuning Tasks tab

QPTune displays existing tuning tasks on every qualifying server. A wizard guides you through the QPTune tuning cycle. The definition of a tuning task is stored on the client machine where the Adaptive Server plug-in runs, and can be accessed only on that machine.

QPTune includes several stages in the tuning cycle for applications or queries.

To create a tuning task for a server:

  1. Connect to the server on which to tune your query.

  2. Double-click the server name. You see the Tuning tasks tab.

NoteIf you do not see the Tuning Task tab, check that your environment variables are set correctly and that your installation contains all the required files and directories.

  3. Click the Tuning Tasks tab, then right-click in the window and select New | Tuning Task.

  4. The QPTune wizard opens.

Alternately, you can start the wizard by clicking the Tuning Tasks icon in the toolbar.

NoteYou must have sa_role and sso_role to create a tuning task.
