Results

Display the output of the tuning process. If the best plan has been chosen for each query, comparison results depict the performance improvement. The output XML file contains the best plans or optimization goal settings for each of the queries.

You may also click Fix to apply the best plans or optimization goal setting to the queries. Doing this generates entries in the sysqueryplans table for the queries that are being fixed.

Optionally, select to apply the default optimization goal to the server during the fix operation. The default optimization goal is the setting selected by most queries during the compare operation, as their most effective optimization goal.

If you select Apply Default Optimization Goal, subsequent fix operations apply the best result to the rest of the queries that did not select this default optimization goal.

If you do not select Apply Default Optimization Goal, the fix operation is applied to all queries in the result file.
