You can suspend and resume database connections for maintenance or troubleshooting. For example, you must suspend a connection before you perform the following tasks:
Adding or deleting publications or subscriptions
Adding or deleting primary articles
Suspending a primary database connection stops the published transactions from being sent to the Distribution Database.
Suspending a replicate database connection stops the queued transactions in the Distribution Database from being sent to the replicate database.
To suspend an ASE Replicator connection:
Select the primary Adaptive Server in the left pane.
Open the ASE Replicator folder under the primary Adaptive Server container.
Right-click the icon of the connection you want to suspend.
Select Suspend.
Click Yes in the Question dialog box.
