In most cases, you never have to manage the plug-in yourself. If you install a product that comes with a Sybase Central plug-in, it is automatically registered with Sybase Central and appears in your next Sybase Central session.
The Sybase Central Plug-ins window lets you manage all of your plug-ins. In this window, you can do the following:
Search for and register new plug-ins.
Load and unload existing plug-ins. Loaded plug-ins are active and ready for use in Sybase Central. Unloaded plug-ins are unusable until you load them; they remain listed in the Sybase Central Plug-ins window, but are not visible in the main Sybase Central window.
Edit plug-in properties. For example, you can add directory paths (such as for additional JAR files or classes) to the plug-in classpath.
All registered plug-ins (both loaded and unloaded) are listed in the Sybase Central Plug-ins window with a detailed description.
TipSybase Central has its own version number, separate from the plug-in version numbers. To see Sybase Central's version number or a plug-in's version number, choose Help > About Sybase Central. |
